Alexander (Sasha) Rumyantsev is the Head of Research & Development at Northlinks Bio. He is a global R&D, clinical development, and strategy leader with over 20 years of experience advancing vaccines and infectious disease programs across biotech and large pharmaceutical companies, including Moderna, Sanofi, and Vaxxinity. He has led programs from early research through Phase 3 trials and regulatory submissions, advancing first-in-class vaccines for COVID-19, emerging infections, respiratory virus combinations, norovirus, and cardiovascular disease. Dr. Rumyantsev combines deep expertise in virology, immunology, and translational medicine with leadership spanning clinical development, regulatory strategy, external innovation, and business development. He has a strong track record of building and leading cross-functional teams, shaping R&D portfolios, and forging partnerships that accelerate innovation. He holds an MD and PhD in virology from First Moscow State Medical University, an MBA from Boston University, and completed postdoctoral training at the National Institutes of Health.
